Choose Your Own Adventure
QVS National Orientation 2023
Whenever you see “Choose Your Own Adventure” on the schedule, you can decide to move your body, express your creativity, engage in discussion or rest. Since there are four opportunities to “Choose Your Own Adventure” at National Orientation, you could decide to do one thing in each category. That’s not a requirement: Select the option that’s right for you. You don’t have to decide in advance, but we thought you might find it helpful to see your choices.
Move Your Body
Monday: Play a friendly game of volleyball with Haley
Tuesday morning: Get moving with a silent disco or improve games with Rachael
Tuesday afternoon: Take a nature walk with Haley and Zenaida
Wednesday: Practice yoga with Zenaida and Rachael
Express Your Creativity
Monday: Spend some time singing with Zenaida and Woody
Tuesday morning: Make some zines with Haley
Tuesday afternoon: Create some worshipful art with Ruth and Hilary
Wednesday: Create some felt art with Haley
Engage in Discussion
Monday: Talk with Ruth about a book club
Tuesday morning: Talk with Woody and Hilary about exploring the Enneagram. Please watch this video (created by a previous QVS staff member) and review this quiz.
Tuesday afternoon: Talk with Mike about the songs on your playlist that connect you with the sacred.
Wednesday: Talk with Hilary and Mike about the best and worst of Quakers
Rest
You can always decide to rest during any of these time slots. Take a nap. Enjoy the campus. You know what you need, but please engage with at least two of the facilitated options listed above.
While you don’t have to decide in advance, you’re welcome to let me know which options are most interesting to you. That way, I can make sure the facilitator has adequate supplies and we can update you if anything changes.
