National Orientation Insider

Pendle Hill has a beautiful campus. I hope you take some time to explore. The Wallingford Community Art Center is just to the west of Pendle Hill on Plush Mill Road. It has a sculpture garden and an impressive stone tower. You’re welcome to check it out.

You can get coffee or tea from the kitchen area of Brinton House any time of day. There will often be snacks available in this area, too.

There’s a pond near Brinton House. Years ago, some Fellows found a canoe and launched it into the pond. The staff at Pendle Hill was not pleased, so please refrain from boating. I think swimming is probably off limits, too.

I think the food served at mealtimes is really quite good. It often features tomatoes or squash from the vegetable garden on campus. If you have dietary needs, please let us know.

You can explore the full schedule for National Orientation. Based on feedback from previous Fellows, we’ve created a pretty spacious week. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or to let us know what will help you participate fully.

During the week, you’ll have opportunities to Choose Your Own Adventure. You can decide to rest, engage in physical activity, express your creativity or join an interesting conversation. You can find your choices here, and it might be worth thinking about your choices ahead of time.

I look forward to seeing you at National Orientation!
